1. The Head Coach may request 1 teammate & vice versa (2 total players)

2. The Assistant Coach (if applicable) may request 1 teammate & vice versa (2 players)

3. Someone coaching in another division with a child in the division being formed (1 player)

4. A player being sponsored (1 player)

5. Teammate Requests (Teammates who request each other receive this priority; 2 players)

6. Multi-Player Families

7. Practice Location Requests

8. Carpooling Requests

9. Average age per team within division

 

Note 1: We only guarantee 4 teammate requests per team (see 1. & 2. above)

 

Note 2: We do NOT look at prior seasons to form teams in the current season; too many things change from season to season. This includes requesting a specific coach. 

 

Note 3: The Head Coach chooses the practice location, day, and time which does impact individual placements especially when someone lists a practice location that none of the coaches choose. In that case, a player is placed at the closest location possible. 

 

Note 4: Please note we strive to put kids from the same family, but in different age groups, at the same location; however this may also be limited based on the practice locations available based on where the coaches are practicing within a given division.

 

Note 5: The final placements are made in such a way that teams average out to the same age. For example, if a team has 2 players born in Jan, 1 in Feb, 1 in Mar, and 1 in April, we strive to complete the roster with players born later in that year so that the average age is somewhere in the middle for all teams in the division. This varies based on everything else listed above; however it is used as much as possible.

 

Note 6: Late registrations are placed whereever there's an open spot and do not receive placement priorities as listed above. Additionally, late registrations are subject to change after coaches send the team welcome email if any errors have been made for someone who registered during the normal registration period.

 

Note 7: If a player wants to change teams for any reason (after coaches provide the team welcome email), and MSA is able to grant the change, a $15 charge will be included with the change to cover the additional cost for the new jersey. If the change requested causes two players to move, a $30 charge will be included.
