Player Safety Rules

* A player who appears concussed will be removed by the referee and may not return until approval from his/her parent.
|
|
|
* Slide tackles are permitted in soccer; however, reckless slide tackles will be taken seriously by the league and the officials.
|
|
|
* (U10 down) If a referee determines that a ball was intentionally headed play is stopped and the opposing team is rewarded an indirect free kick.
|
Sportsmanship Rules
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
* In all ages, each player must start and coaches must strive to provide equal playing time.
|
|
|
|
|
* Players are expected to attend practice out of respect to their team and in relation to the equal playing time rule.
|
|
|
* Parents are expected to contact the coach if their child is unable to attend practice.
|
|
|
|
|
* If a parent contacts the coach this will be considered an excused absence that does not hinder the equal playing time rule.
|
|
|
* There's no minimum # of players required to start a game.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
* In all ages if a team is short 1 player the opposing team plays short 1 player.
|
|
|
|
|
|
* U5-U7 Rec teams may not have a designated GK during the run of play.
|
|
|
|
|
|
* U5-U7 Rec teams may only have players defend their own goal when the opponent has a dangerous chance of scoring.
|
|
|
* Goal-Kicks for All Teams U10 and younger: Attacking players must drop back to midfield until the ball has been kicked back in play.
|
|
* GK's may punt the ball at U10 and below; however, punts (including drop kicks) that land beyond midfield in the air result in an indirect free kick.
|
* Teams and coaches must shake hands at the end of the game to support good sportsmanship.
|
|
|

Other Rules
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
* Pre Game warm up minutes are suggested times; referees may alter the times as necessary.
|
|
|
|
|
* In age divisions that do not allow penalty kicks, an indirect kick is substituted.
|
|
|
|
|
|
* Anyone may play GK in OT.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
* When only 1 referee is assigned 2 club linesman may be used.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
* Red Cards must be reported to the MSA Director of Coaching within 24 hours.
|
|
|
|
|
|
* U10 and older Recreational teams & All Academy Teams participate in an end of season tournament.
|
|
|
|
